Indiana Road Trip



 

 

An Indiana road trip will offer lots of great opportunities for you to have an amazing adventure in a low-key Midwestern setting.  There are lots of great sports teams and outdoor adventures waiting for you on almost every turn.

Downtown City Adventure

Fort Wayne is an ideal Midwestern town that you can visit on a tight budget.  There are plenty of restaurants  and shops to explore but you will have a difficult time filling up an entire week's worth of activities.  It's an ideal destination for a spontaneous weekend adventure.  You may want to plan your trip around events that are going on at the Allen County Fairgrounds.

Indianapolis is the largest city in Indiana and a great spot for you to get out and watch a professional football or basketball game.  You can easily get a spectacular hotel deal in this city and it is very highly recommended.  Here are some great ideas that you can do for your amazing Indiana road trip:

National Parks: If you are looking for an amazing park to visit in Indiana then you should check out Indiana Dunes (located in the city of Porter).  You can explore the beach, check out the remains of the Wisconsin Glacier, or wander through the Mnoke Prairie.

Wineries are plentiful in Indiana and offers you a fantastic opportunity to bring back a souvenir from your road trip.  The Indy International Wine Corporation hosts an annual wine competition at the Indiana State Fairgrounds and is one of the largest events in the entire country.  You will be able to sample wines from over 15 countries and all across the United States. 

Outdoor Festivals are always an outstanding anchor activity in any road trip and if you decide to look for a festival in Indiana you may want to explore the Indy Jazz Festival which is held in the fantastic city of Indianapolis.

Horse Track

Hoosier Park in Anderson has great horse racing and a complete casino to keep you occupied.  There are also regularly scheduled events and excellent dining in the Homestretch Club House Dining, Pegasus Lounge, Johnny Rockets, or the Big Deli.

Theme Parks

Holiday World is a family oriented theme park in the city of Santa Claus and offers a great variety of rides and attractions.  They have a handful of roller coasters for the adventure minded fanatics and you should check "The Voyage" and "The Legend" because they are both outstanding wooden coasters.        

Indiana Beach in Monticello is a great Amusement park that features six roller coasters, 28 rides, 6 fantastic water slides, and a boardwalk.  In the area there are a couple RV parks and campgrounds for you to plan an inexpensive Indiana road trip.
