Everybody loves this city and there's a million
great reasons to love it. Instead of devoting an entire page to this city,
we will simply give you a couple of spots to check out while you
are in the city:
Although this is not your Piece Pizzais not the stereotypical Chicago-Style pizza...it is
absolutely phenomenal. This is some of
the best pizza I've eaten
in my entire life
If your looking for the best spots to have a drink then this is definitely
the #1 place. The Violet Hour is
more of an upscale establishment and absolutely worth checking out.
Tip: When you are in the city, check out the public
train system instead of taking taxi rides. Each taxi ride will set you
back $15 and they add up quick...the train is much less expensive and is
extremely convenient!
Are you looking to watch bears scoop out salmon from a running stream?
Do the shows on the Discovery Channel make you want to be in the middle of the
action? Katmai is the spot for any outdoor enthusiast and it comes very
highly recommended. The only drawback is that it's extremely difficult to
get to and the costs are expensive. This is a once in a lifetime trip.
If you have never made the trip to Yellowstone
National Park then you need to begin making plans immediately. This park
is one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the world for a reason-it's absolutely
phenomenal. You will find something exciting to do for everyone in
your travel party. Some of the highlights and activities you can do are
the geysers, animal viewing, the mud pots, rock formations, fishing, hiking,
amazing lodges, and so much more. Plan on spending at least 3 days in this
park!
Niagara Falls is another destination that everybody
should see at least once in their lifetime. Niagara Falls is located just
north of Buffalo, NY and the park is situated on the border of the United States
and Canada. Hotels are extremely inexpensive in this area and there are
tons of great deals for you to find online. Niagara Falls makes for a
quick 1-2 day stop along your road trip or is ideal for a weekend get away.
There are great restaurants in the area and lots of local wineries that make
outstanding wine with the locally grown grapes. This trip will allow you
to visit the hiking trails, view fireworks, check out the local nightlife, try
your luck in the casinos, and take some outstanding pictures.
The Everglades are one of the coolest spots in the
entire country. If you are looking to see wildlife in a warm environment
then this is your destination. One over great feature about this park is
that it allows you a great get-away if your stuck in a Disney Vacation
nightmare!
I know what your already thinking...are you crazy?
Why in the world would I want to visit Cleveland? The fact of the matter
is, Cleveland is one of the most affordable
places for a quick 3-day getaway and you will have an absolute blast!
If you are a baseball fan or have ever seen the movie "Major League" then
you need to visit Progressive Field. Tip: Make sure to check out
Joc-O-Sot's grave across the street in the Erie St. Cemetery before the
game...this is why the Cleveland Indians are cursed. He likes it when
you leave tobacco on his grave & it gives the Cleveland Indians good luck
for the game!
Cleveland is a true football town. If you love
football in it's natural elements then make sure to see a Browns game...but
leave your home town jersey somewhere else!
While you are in town, make sure to check out
the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame & Museum.
Fishing in Lake Erie is some of the best in the
United States. In case your wondering...the Cuyahoga River did catch
on fire in the 70s because of pollution but it has been cleaned up-Thanks
EPA!
Hotels in the downtown are extremely inexpensive
and you are going to get a great deal online.
If you want to check out the nightlife then make
sure you visit the Warehouse District for the best nightlife in the area.
If you love Chicken Wings (and who doesn't)
then it's worth stopping into this
amazing establishment. Their wings are amazing and I personally
recommend their Louisiana Lickers.
If you love roller coasters then you really
need to check out Cedar Point. All of the Disney parks combined don't hold
a candle to this place, you will be blown away with their roller coaster
selection. This is the best spot for riding roller coasters in the world.
