Michigan Road Trip

A Michigan road trip is perfect if you love being
around the water. No matter where you are in the entire state, you can
walk in any direction less than one mile and you will come across water of some
sort. Michigan is loaded with lakes and tons of outdoor recreation, and in
the summer it is an absolute blast if you are in the Isle Royale area or
Keweenaw. Detroit offers lots of professional sports teams, great
restaurants, and shopping so you can plan a spontaneous trip to the city.
Downtown City Adventure
Detroit
is often referred to as the "Big D" and is a destination where you can have an
inexpensive downtown city adventure. Detroit is the automotive capitol of
the world as it is home to the "Big 3 Car Manufacturers": Ford, GM, and
Chrysler. If cars are not your thing then you may want to visit one of the
casinos in the area: Greektown, the MGM Detroit, or the Motorcity Casino.
National Parks
are generally located around bodies of water in Michigan and offer great camping
and outdoor activities for your Michigan road trip. Sleeping Bear Dunes is
a fantastic vacation because you will be miles from civilization and you will
enjoy an amazing sense of relaxation and escape from the daily grind.
Outdoor Festivals
are quite common in Detroit and in Ann Arbor during the summer months. In
the winter the snow flies feverishly in Michigan so people are either out
hitting the trails on their cross-country skis or indoors.
Wineries
are found throughout the state because Michigan is able to grow over 50
varieties of grapes due to the location next to the Great Lakes. The
varieties you will find in these wines will be an unexpected pleasure you will
rave about.

Hazel Park features
live harness racing during the summer season but also offers live simulcast
