Minnesota Road Trip

Your Minnesota road trip will take you through
some of America's most beautiful northern landscapes. Wildlife is abundant
and you can also venture into the city for some great variety in your road trip.
You may also wish to explore the waterways on a boat and Voyageurs National Park
is your perfect opportunity to take this dream vacation.
Downtown City Adventure
Minneapolis
is a beautiful downtown and is one of the most incredible towns you will ever
have the opportunity to visit. Many people are drawn to the city because
of the Mall Of America and the obvious shopping opportunities but here are some
other ideas and places you may wish to check out as well:
-
Minnehaha Falls: a
53-foot waterfall with spectacular overlooks at Minnehaha Park
-
Mall Of America: One of
the largest malls in the world
-
Mary Tyler Moore Statue on
Nicollet Mall: where the opening segment of the Mary Tyler Moore show
was filmed
-
Midtown Global Market:
A Midwestern market with fresh meats and prepared foods
-
St. Anthony Falls: Also
known as the birthplace of Minneapolis
-
Stone Arch Bridge: This
is the only stone arch bridge ever built over the Mississippi River
Outdoor
Festivals are always a great idea for a college road trip and if your
looking to support the underground hemp industry then you could always check out
the Harvest festival but keep in mind this is absolutely not the place for a
family. Minneapolis has lots of outdoor concerts in the summer and are
worth checking out.
Minnesota
Wineries offer a great way to explore the fantastic countryside and you
may want to explore the six wineries on the Three Rivers Wine trail.
Horse Tracks
Canterbury Park in Shakopee
is dubbed Minnesota's premier gaming destination. It is home to live horse
racing, casino games, poker tables, and simulcast events. It's an
excellent spot to try your luck and potentially pay for your entire road trip.
Theme Parks
Valleyfair! park
in Shakopee offers tons of great attractions for the entire family including
Soak City Water park and tons of rides. If you like thrill rides and
roller coasters then you will need to check out the Highroller which is a
classic wooden coaster and also the Power Tower which is 27 stories of fun!
National Parks
provide lots of exciting camping opportunities but if you truly love the winter
weather then you may want to consider traveling to Voyageurs National Park for
cross-country skiing. In the summer months there are several outfitters
who will rent boats for you to explore the interconnected waterways that
intertwine throughout the park.
